I had a great time creating this commissioned piece last year. This was a special wedding present for the couple as they met for the first time on a dig together. Commissioned pieces are always a joy as they really heartfelt imagery.
Thumbnails
This is typically how my paintings start. I try to draw these thumbnails as small as possible to focus on composition, movement, and storytelling.
Initial Rough
Once I decide on a thumbnail I prepare the above color rough to be sent to the client. This gives the client a good idea of how the final peace look with the ability to make small modifications if needed.
