My love for Dr. Suess has really grown over the years. I honestly don’t remember being exposed to his stories much as a child, but I have grown to appreciate him as an adult. Recently my friend Paul hosted an art show at The Cabin here in Bemidji, and asked me to be a part of it. A few artists were given the same tube of paint and and the theme “Dr. Suess”. Since I like Dr. Who and Dr. Suess, I thought I would do a mash-up. I am usually not a mash-up fan but this was a fun piece to put together. Here is the final painting.

I usually don’t share my references, but I thought it would be nice for you to see a little bit how I work in that area. References are essential to artists and it is vital to gather them early in the creation process. These images were found on Google and I kept this print out beside me during the whole process.
